COVID-19 Information

While many things have changed since the pandemic began, one thing has remained the same:

Infection control has always been a top priority for our practice. This commitment to ensuring a safe, yet comfortable environment has been paramount to quality orthodontic care. Our office has always utilized the highest level of sterilization, beyond the recommendations by the Department of Public Health and the Royal College of Dentists of Ontario. Such measures include our hospital-grade ventilation system, designed to remove over 99% of pathogens and impurities from the office. However, out of an extraordinary abundance of caution, in addition to our normal disinfection and sterilization protocols, we are utilizing additional measures to help protect our patients and staff. Some examples of these measures include:

  • Contactless check-in process via text messaging allows prescreening prior to entering our facility and limits the number of persons in our office.
  • Each staff member performs a daily screening including temperature check to ensure your safety.
  • All patients and staff are requested to wear a mask while in the office.
  • nanoSeptic continuously self-cleaning door handle covers have been installed on all door handles throughout the building.
  • Acrylic guard barriers have been installed at the reception desk.
  • Clipboards, pens, and debit machines are disinfected after every use.
  • High touch surfaces throughout the office are disinfected frequently throughout the day.
  • Patients are asked to brush prior to arriving as the toothbrushing station has been closed.
  • All persons entering the office are asked to use hand sanitizer provided at the door (and at locations throughout the office).
  • Every treatment room has a dedicated surgical-grade air purification unit.
  • All dental equipment is reprocessed, disinfected, and sterilized according the Ministry of Health IPAC standards.
  • Our coffee bar, magazines, iPad station and video game consoles as well as our candy wall are not currently offered.
  • Future orthodontic adjustment appointments are automatically generated to limit the amount of time required in the office and flow through our reception area. (These appointments can, of course, be rescheduled as needed if the time provided is not suitable.)
  • Parents are encouraged to remain in their vehicles during an orthodontic adjustment appointment. Parents are still allowed in the office for new patient consultations and follow up appointments as well as on an as-needed basis for younger patients in the clinic area. If a parent is needed for a specific appointment, we ask that only one parent accompany the patient (siblings and friends are not allowed).
